Thanga Samba Brown Rice is an Traditional rice native to our village, Komarlingam, revived and cultivated organically at Richariya Farms. This rice finds its mention in the Tamil literature. Thangam means Gold in Tamil. Since the matured paddy looks golden in colour, this rice has gained its name.   • We recommend to use a pan to cook these rice and strain the porridge. But, can also be cooked in pressure cooker.

    Soak the rice anywhere between 8 to 12 hours. You can Soak it overnight.

    Add 2 tumbler of water for 1 Tumbler of rice.

    Give it 10 to 12 whistle in pressure cooker in low flame.

    For begineers,

    We recommend to eat traditional rice in place of regular rice. Since this rice is high in nutrition, you can't eat the quantity of regular rice. In the beginning, you can have half the quantity of regular rice. If you eat, 1 plate of ordinary rice, you will need only half plate of traditional rice. You will get equavalent energy and nutrition. This rice is very good for diabetes patients and also helps in prevention of diabetics.
